Kitchens—

This Gulf Shore Drive condo gets a new coastal dream kitchen. In this design plan, we replaced all of the dated cabinetry, visually opening the width of the space with stunning quartzite stone countertops and a full-height backsplash, elevated by upper cabinets with elegant fluted glass doors. The over-the-range microwave was removed and replaced with a custom stove vent finished in warm-white Venetian plaster, creating a softer, elevated, luxe focal point. Design by Penelope Hayes. Thoughtful design changes completely transformed this Gulf Shore Drive condo kitchen. We removed the upper cabinet beside the sink to open up the view toward the Gulf-facing balcony sliders, instantly making the space feel brighter and more connected to the water. The dated built-in office desk at the end of the room was reimagined into extended kitchen and mingling space, creating a far more functional and social layout. From an early-2000s modular DIY kitchen to a sleek modern showpiece. In this transformation, walls were removed to fully open the kitchen to the great room, creating a brighter, more expansive flow for everyday living and entertaining. The entire space was reimagined with rich espresso cabinetry soaring to the ceiling, open quartzite-lined shelving, a custom vent hood, an oversized island, and real brass pot filler and faucet details that bring warmth and luxury to the modern design.
