Burt Hayes’ experience in building new homes was established well before his work in Naples through his role as Project Manager on the ground-up development of Alys Beach, located along Florida’s Emerald Coast, where he worked from 2014 to 2018. Alys Beach is internationally recognized as a master-planned coastal town, conceived and constructed as a cohesive whole, with every residence, building, and streetscape held to exacting architectural and material standards. As part of this comprehensive, town-wide build, Burt managed ultra-luxury residential new home construction from inception through completion within an environment that demanded precision, consistency, and strict adherence to design guidelines. During this period, Burt was honored with “The Alys Award” for exemplifying the community’s core values of Accountability, Commitment, Integrity, Passion, Respect, and Unity.

It was here that Burt and Penelope Hayes developed a shared design philosophy that embraces the light, openness, and ease of coastal living, yet moves far beyond the familiar styles of past decades dominated by rattan, cane, and predictable beach motifs. Instead, a New Global Coastal that tells a richer, more layered story: handmade terracottas, hand-painted tiles, authentic Venetian plaster walls, and custom architectural details sourced from artisans around the world. Subtle Mediterranean, Greek, and Moroccan influences are thoughtfully woven in, creating homes that feel worldly and timeless.
